Mindful Blooms Collage: A Self-Care Art Workshop
$40.00
  • Duration: 1 Hour (60 Minutes)

  • Location: The Artist’s Lofts at 6 N Union Street, Lambertville, NJ

  • Facilitator: Christina Galagarza

This workshop utilizes the arrangement of a floral bouquet as a profound metaphor for personal agency, patience, and self-care. While every participant sits at the same table and draws from the exact same pool of curated materials, no two finished bouquets will look alike. This variation is celebrated as a visual reflection of individual intuition.

What to Expect
  • The process is intentionally broken into distinct phases: Preparing the Soil, Gathering & Arranging, and Rooting—to disrupt the urge to settle on the "first good idea" and instead encourage mindful exploration.

  • Connection is a core part of the process. You’ll learn just as much from the environment and your peers as from the content itself.

  • Grounded in years of non-profit art facilitation and a lifelong passion for the therapeutic power of creativity, Christina’s sessions are designed to meet you exactly where you are. We focus on creating a safe, inspiring space for self-expression. To honor your creative process, your finished artwork is presented in a premium, clear sleeve, elevating a relaxing activity into a beautiful, authentic studio study you'll be proud to display.

Sample Itinerary
  • Settle into the studio space with soft background music as we introduce the core philosophy of the Mindful Blooms workshop.

**A soft bell timer will gently guide us into our first creative phase.

  • We begin by applying light, fluid watercolor washes to a blank 9x12 paper. The focus here is entirely on laying down intuitive color, texture, and light rather than painting a specific scene. This phase serves as a grounding metaphor: establishing the quiet, supportive atmosphere that will hold your eventual arrangement.

  • After a quick 5 minutes to dry our background canvases, we dive into the art of pausing. You'll browse the center table to select a grounding vase shape and gather curated botanical materials and magazine elements. The golden rule here is strictly no gluing; pieces must stay loose as you explore 2–3 different compositions, using your phone to take photos of each layout to compare options and practice creative agency.

  • Reviewing the photos on your phone, you will select the composition that resonates most deeply with you. The remaining time is spent intentionally and deliberately securing your vase and botanical layers to the page. This crucial phase serves as a beautiful metaphor for committing to your choices and locking your personal arrangement into place.

  • We gather for a brief moment of reflection to admire the incredible diversity of the finished works at the table. To finish, each completed mixed-media piece is slid into a premium, crystal-clear art sleeve, elevating the experience into a true studio study and sending you home with a professional, gift-ready presentation of your individual creative perspective.
